Win caps off half century

Ian Gray has maked his 50th year as a registered breeder of Poll Dorsets by taking out the Riverina Sheep Expo performance ewe championship for the third year in a row.

Mr Gray and wife Helen run Greythorn Stud at Bunnaloo, west of Deniliquin.

“They are meat sheep but we don’t want them any bigger than that ewe” he said.

They use Poll Dorset rams over their commercial flock and sell through the Bendigo saleyards.

The ewe judge Graham Wilson, of Kismet Stud near Howlong, selected was champion Poll Dorset ewe at Ballarat last month.
